Default Question about DW pedal

I have an old dw pedal from the early '90s. It works fine, but the hoop clamp can't get large enough to fit the wider hoops of today's bass drums. Does anyone know of a way to rectify this situation?

You can try duck taping it to the hoop.

what pedal is it?

I am playing DW5000 pedals from the late 80s early 90s and I have no problem.

Heck I have one that I think is from the 70s and it still works.

that sounds like a strange problem...is it stuck or it really will not open that much further?

The wing bolt could be striped and not opening the clamp all the way.

I believe this was why DW went to the clamp which has the knurled thumbscrew on the clamp with a lever and wing nut adjusted on the outside, away from the footboard.
