Default If anyone's awake that's used the Evans Glass 500...

was there a noticable difference between that and an Evans Hazy 300 or Ambassador? thanks

the only difference ive noticed is that the amb snare bottom head has a slightly smaller diameter. it makes it hug the shell for a less wrinkled head, imo.

I haven't tried the Evans, but I do use the Remo equivalants, and there is certainly a difference. You will get less snare response and sensitivity with the 500, and on certain drums you will get a flatter, boxier sound. On some thinner sounding drums the thicker snare sides will fatten them up, and give them a bigger sound. I tend to like the thicker snare sides on deeper metal drums.
