Gott in himmel, that's a beautiful drum, is it 9-ply full bubinga, or just the outer/inner ply.

Thanks and I love the sound of these drums. Yes ALL 9 ply bubinga right through, AA flame bubinga to be exact. Amazing sounding drums and one of the rare ply type shells made in the world today made up entirely of bubinga wood by Peace especially in smaller jazz sizes.

Great looking kit, and congrats on the endorsement deal.

I bet you still won't part with your Canwoods though.

Thanks Gruntersdad. They are heavy for there small sizes and the weight of little 10" tom is quite a surprise when you first pick it up. All sound much bigger than one would suspect in regard to these relatively small size drums but most noticably in the deep rich full clear tonality of the 18" bass drum which has really left an impression on several fellow musicians who have heard it so far.

Will be using these in the studio for a full length CD coming up with a local jazz quartet by the way. The boss running the recording project insisted recently after hearing the new drums that we re-record all the tracks we did so far in favour of using the Peace bubinga drums by his choice for the entire CD now when we head back into the studio after some upcoming concerts. Quite a compliment to the quality of the sound of these drums and a good move I agreed with in my view.

Will post some studio samples down the road so everyone gets a chance to hear this Peace bubinga kit recorded in the studio.

I'm not big on tiny kits with teeny bass drums, but that looks like it's a blast to play.

Yes Tamascb10 there a blast to play.

You bet slingerland755 don't let that small size fool you indeed.. That little 18" has quite the full punch and deep sound to it's character as do all the drums.

Yes aydee I feel pretty comforable behind this kit. The feel of these drums is quite different than any other kit i've ever owned or played.

Thanks again guys for all the comments much appreciated!

New black+white version of the most recent picture of me and my Peace Kahuna kit I posted a few days back. Like the different mood of this picture and prominent features of the AA flame bubinga wood grain in B+W:

And here's how the new b+w pic of the bubinga kit looks on the Heartbeat Percussion Peace endorser page under Endorser Spotlight:

Not off the top of my head Citizen Insane but I can look into it or you can send our local Peace distributor here in Canada an email under "Contact us" here from the Heartbeat Percussion website homepage:

http://www.heartbeatpercussion.com/

Good luck and thanks. Great drums! Seriously the best small jazz kit i've ever played {or owned} with these wonderful sounding all AA flame bubinga wood ply type shells. No mixed woods in these babies:}

Here's a few new pics of the kit taken by a friend in the audience at a recent jazz quartet concert by the way. Sorry for the low light and general quality of them but you get the general idea how sharp they looked {and sounded!} on stage that night:

didn't know I had one , did you Stan ; )

Piccolo Steel , so jazzy very loose or very tight. Its the hardest working snare in my collection...... that gets the most compliments even compared to its more celebrated companions

Thanks stillgroovin. They're heading into the studio in a week with a whole battery of Agops for some recording with a local quartet. Can hardly wait!

I'm a little surprised too. I always thought ( I guess I need to say assumed ) that your Pearl C.S. signature snare was your workhorse.

My Peace bubinga kit sounded AMAZING in the studio today. Got 6 tracks down for an ongoing all original music jazz quartet recording project i'm involved with. A few of the tracks featured solo drum introduction spots of the kit which really showed the full range of dynamics and the warm deep responsive range of sounds these bubinga drums possess. Pictures were also taken by an individual at the session and will try to post these and some sound samples for all to hear as a sample of the level of drum quality currently coming out of Taiwan. Many will be truly surprised indeed I predict :}

Derek, you are right the Chad Smith is the workhorse, but is set up with my home studio kit which doesn't move around much( the Yamaha Mcans ).For gigging I use a bunch of other drums & snares, mostly vintage TAMA Imperialstars.This Peace piccolo sounds incredible in the smaller settings.

Thought to add my latest addition of my Peace jazz kit #2 to my drum stable to this old thread showing our Peace kits.

Peace X3 Bee-Bopp Aqua Marine 9 ply Canadian rock maple jazz kit with a Peace SD-138BD phosphor bronze snare with 20 strand PureSound Customs wires:

-16"X18 Virgin BD
-12"x14" FT
-8"x12" TT with crescent rim suspension mount system
-5 1/2X14" SD

Totally stunning sounding and looking jazz kit!

Many thanks to Noel Walker at Heartbeat Percussion here in Vancouver, BC for your input, time, assistance and effort in putting together my Peace jazz dream drumset #2 for this happy endorser :}
