Ahem, I meant: "In my opinion, they make you look like a hillbilly" ;)
exactly, I play these exact shoes when I play. However most of the time I find its easier just to go barefoot.

Hi there...

I'm a newbie here. Well..! one of my friends bought the latest Capezio shoes. They are really comfortable and i would say they are good for any kind of dance. Hope this helps..

I can't stand people who play barefoot in public. It really does look hillbilly to me.

I think the best shoes I have for playing are adidas sambas, or nike rivals, basically any bottom of the line indoor soccer shoe. they are flat, not to much extra clunkyness to the sold, they have a soft sole so you can still use your toes when doing doubles.

I also play WAY high up on my kick pedal with my toes into the chain and I get alot of scuff marks from the cam on my toes so the indoor soccer shoes have some extra leather on the toe and it works out well.

I've played in doc martens plenty of times too and as long as they are broken in it doesn't seem to hinder my playing. They still have a soft flexible sole so it works out.

Dancing shoes! Neil Peart recommends those on his "Work in Progress" DVD...which it makes sense because they are so thin and light. But I prefer just to play barefoot...except it sucks when the pedals are cold...brrr...

I don't have any special drumming shoes, just whatever I'm wearing at the time.

But only yesterday I tried playing with socks when I was in the studio (couldn't get any sound out the drums, so I put the socks back on my feet and used sticks!!)

But seriously, it felt pretty good with no shoes on. It's the way forward.
