Sorry for starting a new thread, but in case some of you that responded to the other thread don't return, this thread improves my chances to know your thoughts on another question. There were certain products mentioned and recommended by you as to what the best seat in the house is. Now I wonder, what, of these and other products, are what you don't like or think I should avoid at all cost?
For instance, my early Tama throne constantly lost height. Because of movement or whatever, the locking nut (even though stout) would loosen and slowly over time the threaded shaft would eventually spin lower, and the next thing I know I'm playing all rim shots and missing a crash or two. But, what I don't want is the fixed height adjustment familiar on so many of the cheaper thrones.
Vince, I'll head into the big city of Spokane first. Hoffmans has some stuff there I can try out. Also a friend in Sandpoint retails vintage stuff and also has some thrones I presume (two garage fulls of really old and some new toys). I check him out for sure.
