Default Wood hoops

Well guys, I've decided to go all wood on my drums:P
I've been using just the stock hoops that came with my ludwig, and since the DW doesn't leave my house, I'm gunna have to get a gig kit together that looks esthetically pleasing. And wood hoops do it for me!!!

Any suggestions, tips, or links?

Do you have the cash? Wood hoops all around can burn a hole in your pocket, especially if you buy for example yamaha's vintage hoops. That is, I believe you can buy some from third party companies that will save you some money.

You can also get them from Precision Drum Company.

Money is a bit of an obstacle but I have a decent budget
I don't think I'm going top of the line but a decent standard is where I'm at. Much appreciate the above responses as well as any future ones!

I got mine from Jody at Stellar Drum. He hand makes them, and they look and sound great. You'll find wood hoops a little pricey, but their sound is certain uniquely nice, warm, and woody. He has lots of options available too, check it out.

If you live in the UK, can just buy (as i am going to do) a single wooden hoop for your snare drum here: 14" Wood Hoop (10 Lug)

Their blurb is this:
Quote:
Dunnett R-Class 14" / 10Lug Wood Metal hoop Hybrid combines the strength of metal and the tone of wood hoop all in one. (Batter side only).
And does seem good but tad expensive for 69...

Do most wooden hoops simply replace the metal hoops? I realize that some drums have claw hooks for their wooden drums. I'm not talking about those.

I'm just looking for a direct replacement for the 14" 10 hole snare hoops. And maybe only the batter side.

Jody at Stellar produces THE best wood hoops available, and I say that without any reservations whatsoever.

I've got a set of jarrah segment hoops being made to match my jarrah stave... can't wait to get them on.

Those hoops are pretty spendy. They look good though.

Going all wood should increase your sound projection, and tuning sounds.
Nice idea.
