check to see if the plastic ring that holds the foam is cracked.

I've been using emads for years & love them. But - the holders always crack. I patch them with electrical tape & that pretty much takes care of the rattle.
Some people have problems with the holder detaching. The instructions state that you must press down around the circumference of the holder after tensioning the head. This ensures that the adhesive will hold the ring. If it comes off, you can likely fix it with 3M doublestick tape.
Hope this helps - Bo

These heads sound great but unfortunetly the black plastic retainer ring always cracks within a short period of time resulting in a annoying rattle.

Invest your money in a real head like an Aquarian Super Kick, Remo Powerstroke one the Evans EQ heads. I have heard about this problem way too many times. Why spend money on something that either falls apart or that you have to patch/ repair ?

Hi,

I started a thread about this issue a while ago. It has happened to me on both the EMAD1 & 2. Duck tape is what I finally had to do. It's a lot of money for that head and they obviously have yet to correct the issue. It's too bad to because I like their heads.
