Default more articulation and warmth: G1s or G2s?

i'm looking for a head that is more articulate and warmer...

would coated or clear G1s or G2s be the best for this sound, or something entirely different?

clear = more articulation
coated = more warmth

G1s give you more of a high-pitched "boom", G2s give you more of a lower-pitched "doom".

I, personally, like coated heads, because if you need the extra articulation, you can always use more finger-stroke to dig into the head, whereas you'll always get that "click" articulation out of a clear head, and not as much warmth (which, afterall, is just muted bright overtones).

Hope this helps!

i just put g1s on my whole kit. coated tops on snare, 10, and 14 and clear resos on the 10 and 14.

they sound very warm and open. they do not have the slap and focus that i had with clear ec2/stock. they sound fantastic. they are on pdp birch tom in f.a.s.t. sizes. i can make a sound clip for ya if youd like to hear...
