Default 16x12 bass drum

Heres a drum I assemble/decorated

-8 ply maple
-3 coats of tung oil, 1 coat of lemon oil
-my old Export lugs,
-drum foundry spurs

Bearing Edge and lug hole were made by JMS custom drums,
and spurs holes were drilled by me

Sweet bass drum Etienne!
It looks so amazing with natural oil finish and the black hardware makes it look very elegant. Unfortunatly that is no black nickel hardware but anyway I really dig it.

How does it sound?

ok heres a rough sound clip with 4 different tuning

http://www.supload.com/music/1616161...JSK05X27J.html

I prefer the 3rd, but I did not mess with tuning yet.

I would have prefered chrome of black nickle but I decided to use what I had instead of buying new ones

Nice grooves Tuxido, the bass drum sounds great. It actually made me get out my practice pad for a bit and slap some things out as your track just looped.

Very cool!

For a little drum, it has a very businesslike look! Very cool idea and good work putting it together. I would like to know how it sounds.

The 3rd tuning sounds great. Awesome sounding punchy little bass and great look too. Nice job! Oh yeah and nice playing.

I couldn`t agree more with you, I love the third tuning as well.
I like the high pitch, the open sound without a sustain which lasts too long.

Though I dug the second tuning, too but I personally think that it needs a bit more muffling. Other than that this small beauty really sounds beautiful!!
I wonder what my 18" will sound like... :-)

I like the tone of number 2, but the sustain of number 3. Good job.
