Default I NEED HELP PICKING A NEW PEDAL

DW 5000 FROM MY FRIEND FOR 85 BUCKS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO WARRANTY OR DW 7000 FROM GUITAR CENTER FOR 120 WITH WARRANTY, OR PEARL P120P FOR 50 BUCKS WITH WARRANTY.
What do you guys think should i take a chance on used? Or pay extra and get warranty, also is there that much difference in smoothness between single chains vs. double chains, and is it worth it to pay extra for those dw pedals or just go with a pearl p120p?
Let me know what you guys think.

Gruntersdad, what happened to your spectacular avatars?

Anyway, just go with your gut feeling. Whatever you feel is the best for you you should jump on.

IMHO, the 5000 series is superior to the 7000 series (which doesn't make sense, but whatever). The Pearl vs DW debate? Well, that one's up to you. Try 'em out. You should also pay attention to the cam shape. Is it circular or elliptical? IME, that affects the "feel" of the pedal far more than the make or model.

For some reason the 7000 series stuff is built cheaper than the 5000, who knows why. A warranty on a drum pedal is a waste of money IMO. It takes years for that stuff to break.

the 5000, or if you cough up the cash a 9000 series, but like others said you have to try them yourself

For the money, I would say a DW7002PT. I picked mine up for under $200. Brand new. I would rate it a 7 out of 10. That's pretty good given the prices of your Pearl, IC's, and Axis. It's a really good pedal. Why buy a lamborgini, when a Charger will do ya.

In this case, it's, "Why buy a '09 Impala when someone's offering a '06 Lamborghini for half the price?" The 5000 pedal is a superior pedal (IMHO), used or not. The only reason I'd buy a 7000 over a 5000 is if the 5000 is really beat up.

There's a reason why you see more pros playing 5000 series than 7000.
