Default My Kit (Gretsch, Meinl, Dream)

Hey guys, these are some new pics of my kit. It's a Gretsch BlackHawk, I know its a low-end kit, but I've got it sounding fairly good, I didn't even spend that much time tuning it to get it sounding decent. Since the last time I posted pics of my setup I've made a few changes. I've picked up some Dream Contact hats, ride, splash, and china. I've dropped the B8 crash and moved the Amun to the left side. I've lowered the crash heaps, pretty much as low as it could go and still be playable. I've also put the rack tom onto a snare stand and flattened it out and lowered it.

Specs:
Gretsch BlackHawk in Midnight Blue
22x16
12x9
13x10 (not in use)
16x16
14x5 snare

14" Dream Contact hi-hats
18" Meinl Amun crash
22" Dream Contact crash-ride
10' Dream Contact splash
20" Dream china

All Gibraltar 5000 and 6000 series hardware except a Tama boom arm.
Aquarian Super 2's on tom batters with stock reso's, Genera HD Dry over Hazy 300 on the snare, Powerstroke 4 with stock reso on the bass.

And my homemade throne which is more solid than any of the top of the line thrones from any brand.

Nice looking kit and I dig flat toms and cymbals. But there's a lot of distance between the rack and floor toms.

Hey thanks, I know there is quite a big gap but it is fairly comfortable to me. I guess the gap has got larger over time.

No, the kit in my avatar is Ben Gillies', the drummer for Silverchair. It's his signature model made by Le Soprano, an Italian company that makes some real high quality kits. I wish that was my kit, but unfortunately it costs around $15,000AU.

Don't fret about the kit being an entry level kit because you got it sounding great to you. What I will say, is that it is obvious that you take your gear seriously. Your set up is very clean and professional. If you decide one day to get a different kit, then I'm sure you'll treat it like a king as well. Good work.

Hey, really like the set, how do the dream cymbals treat you? I've been interested in them and am thinking about getting a crash from them.

Hey, great setup man, the cymbals, toms, everything looks great!
Gotta ask how you like the 12" tom low like that, an improvement or no?
And dont worry about it being an entry level kit - that setup really does look pro!
