Default Tama cowbell clamp problem..

Hey guys... I just purchased a tama clamp for the bass drum..

But whenever I play the cowbell for about a minute...It loosewns up and the cowbell falls.. The same thing happens when I just let it be..I guess due to the vibrations of the bass drum...any suggestion??

I actually just purchased one of these as well...and it is rock-solid, even more than I anticipated. I can hit hard repeatedly, and it doesn't move at all. I don't know, at the risk of sounding like an idiot, maybe it just isn't tight enough?

I'm using it on a Tama Starclassic maple set with the regular wood hoops. What kind of hoops are on your bass drum?

Put a fold of thin rubber around the hoop first, then the clamp.

Just a comment. I used to use a bass drum hoop mount years ago. It scratched up. I went to a cymbal stand mount to avoid that.

Please clarify, is the CLAMP loosening, or is the COWBELL loosening??

Most respect the badge, but all fear the drum.

I just bought a Gibraltar one. I've got a jam block and a cowbell on the same one and it's fine. Tama hardware is usually pretty tough though.

As far as the cowbell goes, i take apart the clamp assembly and wrap one layer of plumbers nylon tape around the threads of the I bolt. The first few times you screw it back together it will be hella tight, but once it really gets pressed into the threads it acts like thread lock but not as permanent. Lasts a long time, its been about three years since I last retaped mine. it might work for the threads on the bd clamp too, just be careful cause the bolt will be considerably thinner...
