Bluefish: YEAH! Once I made a bike tour with my dad through the more northern of the country and we had a hotel just like that house! I really love the style of those old ranches, and I like the land in general.
Man, beautiful place...you live between Hamburg and Hannover? Can I maybe have some pics of the landscape? I guess you don`t have (many) mountains there?

I live in the north of Hessen and it is a whole other world. lol

Great house!

OK, I'll play. I live in the Sunshine State, Florida, USA. It's a great place to live if you like almost perfect weather, palm trees, beaches, beautiful women, and hurricanes.

Here are a couple pics of my quaint home.

Here is my backyard. The bird you see near the canal lives in the area. He (she?) comes around often, along with turtles, egrets, lizards etc...

Thanks for looking...

Wimp...

I live in Massachusetts so we get hit with everything, not just snow, sleet, ice storms, a mix of more or less everything. I don't mind the snow except for driving in it, but now that I don't work any more it doesn't bother me. Having to drive to work in a blizzard to go to a job you hate anyway made it even worse. I don't even mind snow blowing it though. I actually enjoy that to some extent.

Our house is generally unremarkable, but we're very proud of our kitchen remodel:

Bermuda, your "awards" room is great, but having remodeled our kitchen last summer (I did the work), I can say I love the new kitchen! Beautiful cabinets and layout!

Gotta love the Snoopy phone!

Also some parts are early 18th century and the garden is Louis XIV.....lol. Ok, different cultures and no history of architecture over there - we would call it "Kitsch". The times houses were built like that, the Americans only had Wigwams....

Hi Bernhard,
That reminds me of a Margaret Thatcher's observation that Europe was built from history, whereas America was built on philosophy. ...

Me and my house, the day after our offer was accepted. And also the massive solid yellow-wood roof beams that made me fall in love with this house.

Thanks man. We call it home. It's over a hundred years old and has a lifetime of work to be done, but it's got a really good energy to it.

WOW!
Many awesome and homey looking houses!

From what I`ve seen Northern American plots seem to be very very manicured and accurate. Very nice!

Quite a bit too hot for grapes. Wine country is about 400 miles north of here. But good guess. We're 1 street from the top of the hill. And when you live on a slope and want flat land, ya gotta terrace.

Yes! I love it way more than Southern California. Across the street is a huge part of land and it backs up against protected forest. So it's real beautiful.

I don't have a picture of my current place at the moment. Not that it would look good compared to these other castles.

Thank you Karl. I try to keep it simple, you know? After all, many of us are a job loss or sickness away from financial trouble -- I try to live within my means. ;)
