Default My TAMA Rockstar Drum Set

Here's a couple of pictures of my TAMA Rockstar drum set. I think its a DX from 1990, but I really have no idea. The snare is a Ludwig from 1959 that my neighbour gave me. Her daughter used it in high school. The heads are all Evans G1 coated, except for the snare side (Evans 300 Hazy) and the bass drum (Evans G4 and stock). The hi-hat and ride are Sabian B8s that came with it when I bought it used and the crash (which is destroyed because I used to hit wrongly and unnecessarily hard) is also a B8, although not the one it came with. They'll do until I can afford Paiste Traditionals, when I'll replace them with a 20" medium ride, 18" light crash, 13" top hi-hat, and 15" bottom hi-hat. I have cut up mouse pads under everything touching the ground and in the snare basket, which are the only things my snare drum is touching. (For those who don't know, the mouse pads let everything resonant more, and I think it makes my drums' sound not travel through the floor as much.) My bass drum beater is a re-shaped and stained stair rail on a brass thing thats supposed to be used for toilets. It sounds awesome but bends somewhat easily.

Can't see the pictures. Copy the IMG code from the photobucket picture. If you use HTML, it has to be entered in as code. It's really easiest to just use the brackets with the IMG tag.

So you set up like Donna C. (Torry Castellano). Different. Cool.

Cool. I think you meant the snare side head when you said evans 300 hazy. That's a nice looking snare. The only vintage 6-lug ludwig snare i know of is the pioneer, but I couldn't properly ID this one. Maybe one of our resident ludwig historians can.

That's a nice snare for your neighbor to just give to you. First, it's a nice snare. Two, your neighbor must not have a problem with you playing. That's a double-whammy score!
