Default if drummerworld were a party...

at lets say, DB's pad ( i imagine it with bernhard playing piano and nutha playing bass) \

and theres sorta dim light, and hardwood floor you know. sorta fancy but not too fancy party (like it is here haha)

who would you associate with?

i can honestly say id be sipping some punch with pasquini and teeg for most of the night

and id just have to talk to karl and mfb.

well invite some pro drummers to, but wether or not they show up is entirely up to them

haha ive had this idea for a while

Would there be drums there? I would probably try and disprove existentialism to MFB, and then try and explain to everybody why Tony Williams is the greatest drummer to have ever lived.

I would probably get mocked because I would be the 17 year old who plays Metal and everywhere I go (drum shops especially) there's some Jazz punk who has to make a smart ass comment.

There would be a number of different cliques, and which the members would pretty much just hang out with each other, except Bernhard he's the life of the party, he's everywhere.

You'd have the metal heads, headed by Iron Cobra in one area.

Then there is the popular kids, the pros that post on here, and Dan Britt is the leader of this crowd. Strangely they are all matching wearing football jerseys.

And of course, over by the punch bowl are the snobby elitest rich kids (joke) talking about Miles Davis, is the jazz (mainly just bop) crowd headed by Steamer. Honestly, I don't really fit into this crowd , I don't even own one Miles Davis album!

Who can forget, the WFD championship duo, who have a corner to themselves where they just do 60 sec singles runs on a pad (another joke). They double in and out of the jazz crowd, and are the two guys who aren't quite popular (pro), but getting there.

Then there is the most unappreciated guy in the whole party, and that would be Jeffw.

DB and Nutha Jason are like the parents watching over the whole thing,

That's all I can think of now

Oh and there is the stave crowd headed by DMC where they just go around poke fun at plywood drums.

Ehh I highly doubt the only one around here.... Im a jazz cat myself and I cant stand all the disrespect between metal and jazz players, I personally dont care what you play, its about technique, approach and practice regime.

He still deserves more! I think it's because he doesn't post alot, he just helps out when needed in the Technique section because he's a guru and studied with Joe Morello.

That last thing you mention - does it in any way resemble this? I imagine you're a pretty loud player, then.

I'd probably be like an usher/the dude in charge of introductions/making sure everyone's having fun/giving people the tour - guy. Would that make me That Guy, then. Wait.... too confusing!

Anyone can talk to me, but at parties I'm usually drunk and half passed out against refrigerators. Like this.

Hmm, I would be one of a few people.
Either
A) The guy that stands outside the party because he's too scared for human interaction
B) The guy that gets convinced that it's a costume party, but can pull it off as being "cool"
C) The only sober guy that waits for everyone else to pass out to do unmentionable things to them
D) The one guy who stands at the food section eating all the food because he's poor, hungry, and doesn't like people
For this party, I would probably be B, but I don't know.

LOL, I didn't know I was a metal head, I listen to everything, but I like the title! =D ( but I guess having a huge metal playlist and hardcore head bopping to COB and Trivium alone in my basement would make me a metal head )

I'm sure there would be a lot of ply bullying going on.

I actually think the party would be really awkward, we would all want to play drums! If we had it in Canada, more of the younger ones could drink, you guys have to wait till 21! ( I think )

Funny with the tool reference; I've got a few other titles that I'd prefer a party to be like...

Of course it would be BYOB. In my case, it's usually a rather large bottle of whisky or inordinate amounts of Guinness - both of which are invariably stolen from my clutches when I've passed out asleep on the floor in the arms of an attractive lady.

I'm looking forward to University.

If Drummerworld was a party, the two or three jazz guys would be in the kitchen eating all the chicken wings and helping themselves to the beer that everyone else stashed in the fridge.

Well,

if its DB's neck o' dah woods, I'd make it a whole day affair and drag Teeg, Katman, and Negretty, all drummerworld/golfers to one of Phoenix's incredible golf courses..( the Phoenician ?, Cory, that a good one.. )

Back at sundown at DB's, we'd set up a table outside, away from the party bustle ( all the madness would all be around Jon Cable's & MFB's table), and set up some real exotic brew pitchers, some spicy Indian chicken tikka snacks to keep the thirst going, and a couple of spare seats.

Now we'd be all set and wouldn't have to move an inch.

As the evening wears on, we'd invite all the pros for a drink to our table. One by one we'd pick their brains & ask them PEOPLE magazine- type- questions, confirm all the sleazy rumors about them, ask them about their favorite this n' that, and talk about their playing.

Many pitchers and many pros later, we'd finally drag Jon & MFB over, and start drinking whatever they'd be drinking, because that would be good...

... and then the party could truly begin, and I'd then catch up with all my buddies & all the other incredible people on this forum..

oh, and I forgot to add, at some point during the festivities, I'd suggest we make 'odd pairs' and have them do impromptu drum duets, on the two Yamaha Absolute Maple Custom kits placed , facing each other on DB's porch.

e.g. Gruntersdad & Matt Smith
Iron Cobra & Jay Norem
Jeff Almeyda & Drummer Karl
Jazzgregg & Metal Overlord
..etc.. you get the picture..

After this gala event, everyone under16 would be asked to assemble on the porch and be bussed home.

Then the lap dancing would commence.

DB, let us know the date.

I hope the only odd thing with me and Matt is the age. Because you know I have skills.
