Did you buy them in bulk?
Like from an online dealer where you get a better price.

the x stands for extreme they're a bit longer than the usual 5A. But they might be seconds x5A I bought some for the same price a while back. And they were all great sticks

Funny you say that Grunters, cause they're actually seconds but thats not what I meant. 5XA is actually a longer 5A.
They're really good quality, I can barely even tell they're seconds. I'll never buy from a store again. None of the sticks are weight matched, so if you're really picky then you might not like them, but to 90% of people they'll be perfect.

You can see the small imperfections in the finish on the third picture, but really, WHO CARES?!

Hmm I like my drumsticks to be like peas in a pod so I guess I fall into that last 10%. But that's a great deal. I mean, buying sticks in bulk is always gonna get you a deal anyway. This reminds me seeing some of those hornets in the latest modern drummer issue... god those things retail for ridiculous amounts. I wish I didn't like VF Dave Garibaldi sig's so much, I think there's a price bump from his name being printed on 'em.

Overall sticks aren't so expensive-- at least the price is OK for me. Plus, from what I've heard, the prices outside the USA are scary.

PS Just let me get this straight... in the second picture, one stick is closer to the camera than the other right? That's not a MASSIVE factory defect in size? ; )

Sticks that didn't make it through quality control-- something went wrong in production process, or the wood has aesthetic blemishes etc. among other problems. Of course not all of these problems affect playability.

Thats cool. When I started again 2 years ago I bought a brick from MF. 12 pair for 30.00. They are sold as Nova. I had one stick out of 24 that was warped when rolled on the counter. No regrets at all.
