Default My emad and its issues

Ok so at a show i played about a month ago my bass drum decided it wanted to slide away from me while also twisting at an angle...and my bass drum beater slid across my head leaving a black scuff mark on the head...i was able to clean most of the mark off but some of it remains and is rough to the touch...the mark is only about 2 inches long to the left of my falam pad...in your opinions should i get a new head immediately or is this head perfectly fine to play with...cuz there arent any dents...just a bit of a black scuff...any and all opinions and responses are welcome and appreciated...thank you

Well i think i would just play it and see what it does?
If it doesn't seem to play normally then get a new head but if seems to be fine then keep the head the way it is.

I say this for two reasons
1. personally i wouldn't shell out the cash unless i had too.
2. Who really sees the bass drum head except for you and anyone who sits behind your set.

Oh no it is deffinately not about its looks...but more so its sound...my bass drum is tuned pretty well and still sounds fine but i dont want to discover a new tuning trick for my bass drum and have the damaged head prevent me from getting the absolute most from my bass drum if that makes sense?
