Remo clear emperors over clear ambassadors sound good on my M-birch.

Might consider changing to aquarian's equivalent head though, the remo's aren't hugenly consistent and are quite hard to tune, even though they are really hard wearing.

Oddly enough, I love the sound I am getting with the factory Remo UT single ply clears on top and bottom. It was really easy to get these singing. I, but more importantly, my band really likes the sound of my M Birch kit.

I will stay with single ply heads on this kit.
