Default electric drum cymbals???

can i use triggered drum pads as cymbals using a alesis DM5 sound module?? or what do i do to get some cymbals.

i'm trying to make my own electric practice kit using triggered practice pads. so i don't really know how electric cymbal works. can i do that or i have to get special cymbals??

yep, a drum module can't tell what type of pad your using- you could put a drum trigger on a cat, kick the cat, and still get a sound out of the drum module (and a hefty fine from animal control...). i used a set that had the same pads for every drum and cymbal run through a DM-5, and it worked just fine (aside from the fact that they were crappy pads)
