Default drum rims

I know this might sound like a stupid question,
but what is the difference between flanged hoops and die cast ones.

i know the audio differences that each produce, but I would like to know how they differ visually.

i have 2 kits.
a gretsch catalina club jazz and a pearl forum series and id like to know what kind of hoops i have on each.

thanks in advance for your help.

'Google Image' -Gretsch Renown, they have die cast hoops, rounded edges, less flanges.
