Default New Things + good weather = Gotta do a thread!

Hey Guys!

It was a sunny day here in Iceland and I decided since I was bored to take my kit out in to the yard and take some pics.

Plus I've got two new things! A new Throne and a 10" Splash, Meinl Byzance Brilliant.

I got the splash used, and it's very trashy! And it's in great condition!

So, without further ado, here are the pictures:

the Throne: it's a Tama HT-530 Throne

The Splash: 10" Meinl Byzance Brilliant splash.

Me:

Above view: My kit looked so great from that view!

Joey! Post away!

Wow, great shots and a great kit. Love the overhead pics - shows your layout and cymbal layout perfectly...

Especially love the carpet! Makes sense, Bass drum spurs go on 5th and Main.
Hi-Hat stand gets placed over the intersection of Maple and 1st Avenue, throne goes over the cathedral....brilliant!

Haha, Thanks! :D Well, I hope you just made up the whole "Bass drum spurs go on 5th and Main.
Hi-Hat stand gets placed over the intersection of Maple and 1st Avenue, throne goes over the cathedral" Because that just freaked me out :D Haha ! :D

Anyway, to the other guys: Yes, I loved that T-Shirt in Score, but it's not identical... =( But I love it ! :D

Fantastic setup! Iove your kit.

What's the 12" wuhan china like? i've been contemplating buying one but was told they're pretty bollocks. I have a really heay trashy 19" which i'm fairly content with.

nice set. very clean set up. looks like a lot of fun to play. that looks like a pacific, but i could be mistaken. if so, what model is it, and how do you like it? i have a very similar setup with evans heads and a muffling bass drum head, and i love mine. just looking for some other peoples opinions with pdp.

Love the kit, three up, 2 down. Still like the rug, and I love the T-Shirt.
And I have to ask, is it true that Iceland is Greener than Greenland, and Greenland has more ice than Iceland.

Thanks everyone for the kind words :D

The 12" Wuhan is really trashy and it responds quickly and fades very quickly. I mainly used it as a kind of stax sounding china, as I play a lot of Dream Theater music. I think it sounds over all great but it can crack fairly quickly.

Yes, it is indeed a pacific. It's PDP CX Blue Onyx, the color is discontinued, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a great intermediate level kit, and expert I think. It sounds really great and I'm very happy with PDP.

Jeez Louise... This question again. OK, the thing is, it should be backwards. Greenland should be called Iceland and Iceland should be called Greenland because there is so much more ice and so much colder there than here. Hope that answers your question.

The early settlers didn't want more people showing up so they flipped the direction arrow, LOL. ( true)

Joey,
That kit is set-up so much like my DW's that I know I could sit at your set and wouldn't have to move a thing. I really like your cymbal set-up, nice and tasty. I got to play some PDP's a couple weeks ago at a rehearsal studio and they really sounded good. They were set-up with pinstripes on the toms and an Emad on the bass drum. BTW, nice shirt and the first thing that came to mind was DT's Score, that was a great show.

Thank you man!

Yes, I watched the Score DVD and I thought "Man, I've got to get that shirt! =O". Haha, anyway, Yeah, I agree. PDP's sound very good with good heads! And I love this setup btw :D but the thing about me is that I can NEVER have anything stay in the same place. I always have to mix it up! It's a drag... I can never be satisfied with the setup I have. Thanks for the cymbal comment also, I love the cymbals! :D

I never get tired of looking at your kit, probably because you change it around so much! Positioning is really awesome, everything looks comfortable and easy to hit.

Are your two main crashes a HHXtreme and a HHX stage?

Haha, thanks man! :D The two main are 18" HHX Stage and Studio. Yes, I change it a lot! For example I have it now: 10", 12" up. 14" 16" down. And most of the cymbals. It's nice to have these pretty deep sounding toms instead of having the 8" which is way up, and I cant really get the ideal tone from it. Hmmm... So I dropped it. I probably just need a new head on it :D The old one is pretty worn out. So yeah. Thanks for the comment :D
