Default Stanley Cup Playoffs

So I was browsing through the off topic lounge and noticed that there is a thread for just about every sport excluding the NHL. I decided to fix that.

So who here is rooting for the flyers?

Flyer's just won it in double overtime. Mike Knuble baby.

I don't care if nobody else posts. I'm still going to . ha

And boston slammin the Canadiens 5-1. That was unexpected.

Flyers lead the series 3-1 now. I look forward to seeing them in the next round. : )

WOW what a game tonight... Best game I have seen in years..Bruins Habs game 6.. Back and forth with the B's coming out on top..Man that goal by Kessel was one of the best goals you will ever see.

I think the Bruins have gotten in Price's head he looks more vulnerable every game..Game 7 tomorrow night in Montreal, should be a good one.... C'mon Bruins baby just beat the Habs and I will be a happy man.

Best game of the series indeed. The Bruins (sadly) deserved to win, coming back from behind three times in the game. I really thought they were buried at 3-2. Great team effort. Chara has been very good - he is the big reason - with Axelsson - our power play looks so atrocious since to beginning of the series.

I disagree with the comment about Price. Yesterday's 5 goals were in against any goalie in the league. Our whole defense just gave way too many opportunities in the third period.

It was pretty quiet in Montreal's streets after the game... I still think we'll win it in the seventh game.

How about those classy Montreal fans, Eh? Lets win and go burn police cars and just raise havoc. I hope their trail ends with that series.

It's sad to say that I almost agree.

Let's try not put all the Montreal fans in the same bucket,

I was once a big Bruins fan back in the 70's and 80's. Nothing like a Bruins - Canadians game at the old Garden or traveling to the Forum. Then the game changed and I lost total interest in watching, unless I couldn't sleep, then I would put a Bruins game on and pass right out :-) I did enjoy this series and even though the Bruins lost to the better team they appear to be on a resurgence...I hope so because I used to really enjoy watching hockey.

I just can't believe Flyers's second goal was allowed yesterday. Such a bad call in a seventh game is unacceptable.

Canadians are again facing a team against which they've not lost this season. But it is now a whole new season, and many players havn't performed very well against the Bruins. Another tight series for the Habs.

Lidstrom is an incredible player.. Among the best defensemen ever.

I havn't seen many Wings games this year. It seems strange to me that a team that's been so dominant this year seems somehow neglected by the experts as a contender in the playoffs. May be because of the goalies ? I'd like the Wings to win, but it will be tough if Theo's is indeed back to the level he used to be a few years ago..

How was that a bad call. He checked the defender(legal) and the defender tumbled into and knocked away his own goalie. I don't see any problem with that. Especially since in game 3 the caps were allowed a goal on a deflection that was both a high stick and goal tender interference(his stick hit Biron's glove). So as far as I'm concerned fair is fair. The better team won the series, you and the rest of the world can stop sucking on Alexander Ovetchkin's teat now...

oh, and the Flyer's take it in 4.

Morrisson didn't have puck control. Clear interference. Not legal.

But that's the game anyway. I didn't say the Flyers didn't deserve the win. And I didn't mention Ovechkin either.

he didn't interfere the other capital did. I was kidding about the Ovechkin comment, it just seems like everybody was rooting for the caps to beat Philly for the entire series, Particularly Barry Melrose, who's been doing espn's hockey analysis lately. all i've heard from him is sydney crosby this, alexander ovechkin that. It's just really nice to knock off a team that has been favorited from the beggening of the series. and to knock out ovechkin in particular cause i don't like him. Yah he scored 65 goals but he was diving all over the ice the entire series trying to draw penalties. I don't like watching fakers

Yes Lidstrom is a great player deserving of the captain's role no doubt.Speaking of goalies Hasak has not been himself lately I'm happy Osgood has stepped it up in the playoffs. If the Wings dominate Colorado in the next round you can be sure they will get plenty of press time it seems the only time the Wings get press time is when the totally dominate or they lose terribly.Kinda like the Tigers but that's a totally different thread altogether.
Good luck with your Canadians.

he didn't intend to knock Huet out of the crease, but Huet got in the way of a legal check, it was an unforunate turn of fates for the caps, but hockey is hockey. People are gonna get roughed up, and that includes the goalie if he gets in the way of a falling player.

so they'll take it in five. they got robbed twice. The Flyers always seem to get the worst of the calls in any series they're playing in.

I love the Wings, and I wish them the best of luck. The fourth game is the harder to win though.

A final between two original teams would be soooooo great.

Is that why the Wings won in 96' if it comes down to that the Wings are gonna do it again.

Nahh!! ;-)

They really are the best team in the NHL right now. And that's not a huge revelation to any hockey fans out there.

The wings are the oldest team in the league. The rest that they will now get before the next series is the best thing they could hope for.

However, Colorado obviously wasn't on top of their game. The next series will be the first real test for the Wings, whoever the opponent is.
