Default opinions: J1 Etched snare (batter) heads

my drumshop recommended this head for my Black Panther (birdseye, 5.5x14). are these the Evans version of Remo Ambassadors?

i'm playing rock, so i'm not sure if it'll withstand only sticks hitting them since they're technically made for jazz, but i want articulation and sensitivity without having to crank my snare tightly to get it (and NOT get tones that are way too high). btw, i've got an Evans Hazy 200 snare side.

any opinions on this head? i just put it on and like it so far, more than the Controlled Sound that i had prior (too heavy for what i wanted), but still wondering which other heads i could try on my snare after this one since after only one session, it looks quite worn.

J1s are standard medium weight heads they just are textured instead of coated. They have a very open sound but a bit more rounded attack than coated or clear heads.
