Default The last show I played...

So on april 4th I hosted a show in the middle of my pasture...

we used about 30 extension cords, and only had two plug ins but we had a power strip on each one...so we were praying that we wouldn't blow anything!

the picture of the guy playing the acoustic was the opener, and he really should have been the closer! He played some mean bluegrass, and was one hell of a singer songwriter!

The show went really good. We played with two other bands, and one of them had their own pa system that they let everyone use. I know it was a peavey mixer and powered amp ran through some huge speakers, but I don't know any specifics.

There was a really good turn out somewhere around 70 people.

Thats really cool. Some of the funnest shows i played were in the middle of nowhere out in the woods. Please tell me that the singer is not reading lyrics off a piece of paper in the middle of a show.

Playing somewhere in nature is cool....reminds me of those early days when I set up my small kids drum set at my grandma`s garden and played. :-)
Nice pics!! Do you have more?

Karl

Looks like a really fun gig that you all put together. Great idea and great memories.

oh no not a singer who reads off his lyrics whilst playing a show! I'm sorry if he's like your good mate or something but it does annoy me when they have the best job in the band and when pretty much the only time they have to put even a modicum of effort in, IE to remember the lyrics, that just seems like too much hard work for them. Like the guy in my old band. He's an ace person tho so it's nothing personal or anything. I shall have to nick your idea to play in the woods one day.

He read a few songs because he wrote the lyrics for them the day before. He kept them down at his side most of the time, he just had them just in case he had a brain fart and forgot something.

The picture was taken when he was reading a birthday speech to a few people out in the crowd (there were like 5 birthdays that night) and we had a very funny speech that a few people had put together...
