Default Clamps on the Pearl ICON Rack

I picked up some new PCX-200 clamps for my toms:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...amp?sku=448842

They seem sturdy enough, but there's a little space where the clamp doesn't want to close completely snug around the rack. Tightening the main "wing-bolt" will still make the clamp hold securely, but if it gets tightened a bit too much I don't doubt that it would leave little pinch marks on the rack.

Has anyone else noticed this with this model of clamp?

I have PC 100's so I'm not able to see what you are seeing.

I also have PC-50s (crap) & PC-100s (great). But I don't think you need to really tighten the clamp too much, that's the whole point of the ICON. It's square, so it won't slip.

I think you'd struggle to pinch the crossbars using only your fingers to tighten the clamp. They're very sturdy.
