Default Mapex powerhoops

Are these hoops have something different than normal triple flanged hoops?

Just curious... ( maybe an interest for the saturn since i've heard one...)

So we can think they are stronger!

Nope standard triple flanged hoops are 2.3mm. The "Powerhoops" thing is just marketing, as far as I can tell.

Yer, played on snare drums with them and can tell no difference. I personally just think its for marketing.

Some are 1.6 mm - but lots are 2.3, so yeah, you're paying extra for those stickers and it's just marketing. I took the stickers off my Pro M hoops.

i think the 1.6 hoops were standard for many years. the 2.3 are a nice move up to a heavier gauge hoop without going to a die-cast hoop. die-cast hoops are iffy sometimes. some drums sound great with them and others sound way to "boxy". it all depends on the drum and the hoop itself.

standard triple flanged hoops are 2.3mm

2.3mm (even 2.0 which is rare these days) are still considered power/heavy duty hoops.
