Default Tattoos

Greetings drummerworld, its been a long time.

Anyways I need your help in finding Korean calligraphy. I'm interested in a tattoo of either "Truth" or "Kang". Kang is my original Korean name. Any help with this would be MUCH appreciated.

I don't know, that's what I put in Google. I would ask someone like your parents or someone who would actually know. You don't want to find something, get it tattooed and find out that it means something embarassing or entirely different :)

Ok, here's mine. Been growing over the last few months. It's only three tattoos in total. Actually, 3 and a 1/2..you can see the unfinished one. Haven't had them updated in a while due to some silly financial decisions as of late though....

got this back in october. I'm adding a heart, a music staff the words "rhythm within" and the music to a song my dad wrote for me when i was in the incubator as a baby (3.5 months premature)

i designed it and the artist just did my design exactly, it turned out as expected!
let me know what you think, i'll post the concept on paper later this week.

How'd the front of your bicep feel? i'm adding a large addition to mine that will cover basically my whole bicep and go onto the inside of my arm, which i've hurt sucks pain wise.

It's alright, I've had more done now though. The underside of the arm is pretty tender, but alltogether not too bad after the first few minutes.

sounds good. the majority of mine will be on my bicep i guess the centre/top of it. I maybe have 30 mins that will be directly on the inside.

Default New Tattoo...Drum Related.

Hey everyone.

Just stopping in to show you the newest addition to my body. Tell me what you think.

The way I see it is they are easy to conceal, they are tasteful, no text, and the only way I'm going to willing stop drumming is if I lose both of my arms...which would get rid of the tattoos anyways...so I guess im covered.

No offence but I'm not a huge fan, something classy would have been nice, to me it seems like you said "Hey I play drums put some big ass full sized sticks on me!" without any thought behind it. But who am I to tell you what to do, your the one that has to live with it.

That's a pretty cool idea, I'm sure i've seen it before or something similar. Glad you've got something you love.

i appreciate the passion but it's not something i would want for my own tattoo. but then again, as a few people have already said my opinion doesn't mean jack. all in all i think it's awesome that you want to represent your art permanently on your body, i just might have done it slightly differently.

I like it actually. I'd probably get it with, like, the Vic Firth emblem on it myself because Vic Firth is the most amazing drumstick on this earth in my opinion and I'm a die hard vic fan.

I thought about it, but being 20, I'd rather not pledge loyalty to one brand in particular.

In all honesty at the end of the day they are your tattoo's and if you like them then heck that's all that matters.

It just so happens that I love them and think that they look great!

I quite like that, not something I'd personally have done (I have ideas for my first tattoo anyway) but if you're happy with it, more power to you.

Its cool to see that as its an idea I've toyed with but not gone ahead with.

My prefered place to have sticks tattoed would be on my forearms but that potentially causes problems at work and stuff. Maybe lower legs would be better.

I've thought about making the design a bit more elaborate, like a bunch of sticks twisted around each other a bit or a bunch made to look like the trunk of a tree somehow with small twigs and moss and imperfections and stuff like that. Hopefully those arent too pretentious.

Pretty cool, I would have 5b's or 3a's. I miss having the money to get new piercings and tattoos all the time. Well the piercings didn't cost much, I was a piericer for years so I still have all the stuff.

Default NEW TATTOO

This tattoo has been a vision of mine for the past 11 years. I have always wanted to capture my love for drumming and music in the form of a tattoo. For years I went back and forth with the idea of using my own hands and or drums in the portrait. Then after reading Neil Pearts wife Carrie Nuttall's portrait book that captures Neil in many beautiful photographs I found the perfect picture. I have a quote that I created and have used on the name of one of my personal drumming albums: "Rhythm In The Hands Of Few". I thought that it would also be a perfect description for this portrait tattoo which includes Neil Pearts hands. I would like to thank Neil Peart for all the years of inspiration he has given to me. Someday, Neil, if you are ever near my Howland, Ohio home, we will have to take a motorcycle ride together! I would also like to thank Carrie Nuttall for the great portrait art she has created. Thanks for looking.

Thank you all for the kind words. The tattoo is located on my left outward facing thigh. I wanted to keep it high enough to still be able to wear golf shorts and not have it show. Again, thank you for looking.

Hello,

A profound inspiration and a beautiful master-piece on your skin.
I have got myself several eagles tattooed on my arms and forearms, I have them made in Venezuela, Scotland and USA.

All the Best,

Beautiful piece of artwork and probably the best idea of expressing the wearers love and passion for his or her music that I've seen.

Never would have come up with that one myself man.

Here is the treble clef on the outside of my left leg. I always wanted a tattoo, but could never decide what. But i thought seeing as music is the main thing in my life, this would be appropriate. I know other people have them and thats cool, im happy with mine :)

The tats all look great. I don't have any pics of mine yet, But I'll get some posted. I have 12 altogether. Ranging from Native american, to my daughters name and a few faith oriented tat's. Awesome looking artwork.

I was actually going to start a thread to see who had what for ink, glad I did a search first.

I love Travis B's tattoo's although not sure they would suit me! - here is a montage http://augustjones.blogspot.com/2008...-talented.html
