Default Aquarian Super 2 Clear VS Super 2 Studio X

Does anyone have an opinion?

I'm ready to move off of Remo Emp., and Evans G2. I can't seem to get any consistency from those heads anymore.

Does anyone have opinions on the Aquarians mentioned in the title? Let me know. Thanks...

Heres a good idea of each of the heads http://youtube.com/watch?v=ot31HbyOlWE

I'm personally going to buy either Studio X or Performance IIs very soon I love the deep controlled sound of each and how the Performance IIs hold tone at a lower tuning.

My input on these are the clear will give a more open rounder sound with good resonance and the Super-2 are known to hage good punch too. For the one just think of the first description but with moongel. The Studio-X ring is a light coated muffling ring of about 3/4 of a inch applied over the head from about an inch from the edge.

IMO you can emulate the sound of the Super-2 Studio-X with the Super-2 clear (with moongel or light studio muffling ring even an homemade one) but cant do the opposite. My choice would be clear though.

I've used the clear Super 2s with good results. I had them mounted for about six months. The sounded great at first and started sounding a little flat as time went on.

I've used two diferent sets of Studio X heads. Both sets were clear, and one set had power dots. They sounded great, but durability was an issue, Neither set lasted very long.

Evans EC2s and EC1s are both good choices also. The EC1 is a little more open than the EC2s.

I recently mounted Emperors over Ambasadors (both in clear) and like them as well.

Just FYI, the thread starter looked for Super-2 with Studio-X ring and not straight Studio-X.
