my sticks would fly straight into my eyes if I had my toms set up like that. I like big kits but this looks kind of uncomfy.
What are you changing your heads to?

The OLD Imperial Stars slammed. I'd much rather have them to the new drums Tama hung the same name on. Great kit. Blast from de old past.

I use a matched grip mostly so this set up is pretty comfortable for me. These pictures make it look more spread out than it actually is. I'm switching to Aquarian performance 2 coated batter heads which are hard to find where I live.

Thank you very much. The pictures make the set look a little blue but it's actually jet black. I think the extra deep shells look and sound really cool. I bought the basic four piece set and just kept adding to it. I went with Tama because it was pretty affordable at the time plus I like how they sounded. Your set sounds cool also.I would like to see pics. of it.

Oh yea they are old, Tama doesn't even make this model anymore. But they are still in good shape and they still sound good. When I bought this kit I played a lot of hard rock and heavy metal. Now I'm playing more jazz so I'm thinking about getting another set, although this set does the trick.

I did when I first bought it. I loved Lars old set up. Although my biggest influence is Louie Bellson. When I play jazz sometimes I will set it up like Louie does but mostly like what you see in the pictures. I also have a set of roto toms and a small gong.

I think the line started in 1974 http://www.tama.com/history/history_detail.asp?i=12 I remember the grey Zola-coated 9 ply mahogany shells. Yeah, they rocked.
