Default 2 more plates...

Just got these yesterday for a combined 350 bucks. Not a GREAT deal, I know but not terrible either. They are a 20" K pre aged dry light ride and a 17" K dark thin crash.

I just can't help myself when people I know are selling gear I've heard them play a hundred times. I've always liked this particular pre-aged dry light ride more than others that I've heard in stores... And the crash says "thin" but it's the darkest crash ever.

I think my jazz setup is one cymbal short of completion now. I'm going to use the pre aged K as my main ride, my 18" breakbeat ride on the left and my 20" swish with 6 rivets over the floor tom, and my 13" (or maybe 14") new beats. That leaves the spot above the main ride open and what I'm thinking I want there is a crash of doom... Just to be original.

Cool!
How is that Pre-aged dry light ride sound-wise? And what does it weight?

Smokey cymbals...

maybe if i get ambitious tomorrow before my bluegrass gig I'll hook up my zoom and make some quick recordings of the ride...

I'm anxious to see what it sounds like up close and personal myself... maybe I'll bring it to the gig...?

As far as weight goes... i don't have a gram scale lying around but i'll see if i can borrow one from work. I would like to weigh a few of my cymbals just to know where they are on the weight range. Especially my 20" flat ride and my 22" paiste 505...

Good score. If I found somebody selling that ride, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd even buy it at cost.

Sweet! It sounds like you have a nice jazz setup planned. The crash of doom is sick, I would say go for it.
