Default Compact enough for International travel vs. rentals abroad...

Here's the deal folks...

I live in the Philadelphia, PA, USA area and will be performing in Pattaya, Thailand late next month. I need to come up with a drum kit to rent there or an affordable, compact kit (four piece will do) to travel with. Can anyone recommend a reliable rental option for a drum kit (of any size) close to Pattaya or some decent compact kits for travel to purchase if necessary? If you can provide the contact details for any persons or agencies that handle these types of needs, it goes without saying that that would be helpful as well. If I need to purchase a small "travel" kit, it would be great to do it overseas to avoid the baggage costs and physical handling on the way over. Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. BTW- this site is awesome!

Thanks much!

100% you'd be sure get some decent rental options in Bangkok ( a few hours drive to Pattaya). You might even get good rental gear in Pattaya.

If I were you I'd look up music shops in Bangkok/ Pattaya and mail them an enquiry.

you should'nt travel with anything more than your favorite snare and a couple of cymbals, and your stick bag if you're not taking all of your own rig.

And if you look hard enough, you might find one of your drummer world brethern who might be willing to rent you their kit, with you bringing your cymbals and pedals.
