They are so deep and creative. I listen to them when I get mad at my parents and sad about girls. I mean, it's not easy being 25.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of:

Foo Fighters (Dave Grohl/Taylor Hawkins)
Grand Funk Railroad (Don Brewer)
Rush (Neil Peart)
Incubus (Jose Pasillas II)
RHCP (Chad Smith)
The Beatles (Ringo Starr)

And then to some Fatboy Slim, Boards of Canada, Daft Punk, some Kanye West and Fort Minor (I normally hate rap but Kanye's OK and FM runs away from common topics), plus some Andy McKee and lots of jazz with my dad.

Everybody else.*

*Noteworthy everyone elses include Yes, Genesis, Traffic, Floyd, Who and all the other 'classic' folks. Most of the contemporary stuff I'm into is indie type stuff e.g. Grizzly Bear, Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, Sea and Cake.

Well favorite bands of all time are The Who and Zeppelin

But I've also been listening to alot of
The Sonics
Iggy and the Stooges
The 13th Floor Elevators
The Velvet Underground
David Bowie

and I just discovered two amazing "indie" bands: The Black Keys and The King Khan & BBQ Show... I suggest looking both of those bands up..

Lately I've really been into excruciatingly slow and depressing metal bands (I think the subgenre is called "funeral doom" metal):

Esoteric
Disembowelment
Skepticism
Ahab
Monolithe
Catacombs

And non-metalwise:

Led Zeppelin
Journey
John Mayer Trio
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
John Coltrane (the quartet he had with Elvin, McCoy, and Jimmy)
Miles Davis (with Tony, Wayne, Ron, and Herbie)
Medeski, Martin, and Wood

Best band of all time: Dream Theater

Greatest band of all time: Metallica

(who here agrees that dream theater has reached the ultimate goal of music?....that is, to tap so deep into ones soul that all other music becomes obsolete.)

other then that I love tons of bands

Guns N' Roses
SOAD
Disturbed
Led Zeppelin

Almost everything....you know the drill...
