Just beautiful. Yamaha craft some of the finest drums in the World and they never fail to disappoint sonically or visually.

What a beauty! Also some nice cymbals...
But a question: Does Yamaha also make more shallow toms like 10x8" or 12x9"
I`m just wondering...

That's the trippiest thing ever, this snare sounds like my ex snare,a Yamaha Maple Custom I had a whille ago, When tuned very high I can get the rimshot cracking so loud that is unbelievable.

Yes Karl... my yamaha maple custom absolutes have 10x8 and 12x9 toms. I believe you can even special order 12x8 toms as well.

OH YEAH! That is very nice. You know, I love the Yamaha sound, I just dislike the deeper toms. I don`t hate em but I also don`t like them so much.
Now it is a candidate again!

thanks for the info,

Karl

No problem Karl. I also like more shallow toms than deep. When I ordered my Sonor delites, I specifically asked for 10x8 and 12x9 rather than 10x9 and 12x10, which is a typical Sonor shell pack. They accidentally sent me the deeper versions, but made it right and shipped me the correct shallow toms in exchange. I just couldn't get the deeper toms positioned how I like. They sounded good, but the shallow toms sounded just as good to my ears. Anyway, it's all about personal preference!

Yet another nice kit by the way... Odery and Yamaha.... nice combination to have!

This marvelous kit got me posting. . .

Vry nice looking natural, I love the Paist Sigs and the K hats, and the simple layout.

If you find the kit gone, a smashed window and a note saying 'BDS has your kit now,' in the morning don't be surprised.

Sweet looking Yammie. I love that finish. The MCA's are such a well-crafted kit. I just hung a 10x13 next to my 9x12 -- it's a super tom combination. Thanks for posting pictures of your kit.

Hallo Karl!

I have just ordered a 12x8 tom to my others Yamaha birch custom absolutes. My 1.st tom is only 10x7,5 - so if you like shallow toms, then Yamaha is a good choice. Try to check out thomann.de - i think they have some nice Yamaha toms!

And nice set by the way. I'll soon post some pics of my Yamaha birch custom absolutes :-)

Hahaa...i hope you didn't ended up like me...surely the Odery was my dream kit...but it was actually to nice to play on...so i finally ended up letting it go...and got the Yamaha Oak custom instead....the Odery is still the winner in terms of sound and looks but at least i don't have to be careful around it..especially with the woodhoops on those Odery.

Do you see that? Go figure huh... haha. Well, and there's a chance that I'm still gonna let this yamaha kit go, I deserve some vacation and I think I'm gonna have to sacrifice... let's see. The odery kit is not going anywhere, at least for a whille. I just got a few hard cases for the imbuia kit to avoid any misshap...

I can proudly tell you I'm also the owner of a Traditionals 20" Medium Ride, with the etched logo. What a beautiful sounding cymbal. We could start a club or something!
