Default My kit, updated with custom snare and more Saludas!

So, it's been a long time since I posted any pics of my kit, and it's changed so much, I figure now would be a good time to put up some more. Here's a link where you can see how my kit used to be. I sold the 8 and 10 inch toms, changed to 1 up 2 down, sold some cymbals, bought some UFIP's, and finally traded the UFIP's for Saludas. With that trade, I got all the parts to make my own snare as well.

So, without further dudes (waiting for someone to catch that...), here's the specs:

CB Kit
-12, 13, 16 inch toms (Coated Ambassador over clear G1)
-22 inch bass (Coated Powerstroke 3 over stock reso)

Snare
-7x14
-10 ply Keller maple
-Evans Power Center (was free, I'll probably change to G1 Genera) over Aquarian Classic Clear snare side

Cymbals
-14" Saluda Mist-X Dark Rock hats
-18" Saluda Mist-X Heavy crash
-22" Saluda Glory ride
-18" Saluda Diamond china

In the future, I'll be building a 13" aluminum side snare (anodized brass with brass hardware), then a matching kit for my 7x14. As far as cymbals go, I'd like to get a 20" Diamond crash and maybe replace the Dimaond china with a 20" Voodoo.

Peace out y'all.

PS. I can post more pics if anyone likes.

Can you post any sound clips? I like the cymbals, especially the 22 Glory. :)

And they were smart enough to put the snare strainer on top of the seam.

Not they he....

Those cymbals look great! I love the look of the glory. That snare looks bad ass. I built a black stain one not to long ago. the finish turned out very similar

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Sleepy, I don't really have any way to put some sound clips up. Well, I have a digital camera, which obviously doesn't record anything half decent, or I could bring my computer in the room and hook up my $10 Fry's mic to it. Or I could bring my kit into my room. But either way, that's too much hassle. Suffice it to say, everything sounds really good. Although, I might send the ride back to Saluda to have some work on it, as it doesn't quite live up to the sound I had in mind. The crash might be my favorite cymbal of the four. It weighs 1659 grams, which is pretty heavy, but it's very responsive and doesn't ring nearly as long as you'd think. Especially when playing with other instruments, it just has a nice explosive sound that get's out of the way pretty fast.

Gruntersdad is right about the strainer. That is, I bought the shell with edges and beds already cut, so I didn't have much of a choice where to put it.

What about the Glory don't you like? I have a 20" Glory ride and love it. If you want more wash, try a MistX.

I bet you do love that crash. My MistX 18 is just a little lighter than yours and it sounds so great!

The ride has a tinny "tah" sound, despite it's heavy weight. The strong ping just isn't there, and the stick gets lost behind the wash really really easily.

I see. My Glory is a dry ride. Barely any wash.
