Jd, That's a killer blue sparkle you have, I've allways had a thing for Yammies. Nothin' but Quality there! Is it a wrap?

Here's more sparkle I own! Java!
Hey bro, sorry bout mistaking your tubs for Superstars (fine drums in their own right) I was thrown by the black kick drum hoops. Now that I get a better look at the lugs...Nice!

The following Ludwig kits were all in my collection until 2005. My wife was ill and I needed extra income, so these were all sold. They were nice though and I did enjoy them while I had them.

'67 Burgandy Sparkle

'65 Red Sparkles

2003 Silver Sparkles

'61 Silver Sparkles

Onemat,
Sorry to here about your wife, hopefully she'a o.k.
Sometime you have no choice but to give up material things when it comes right down to it. Drums are important, but not as much as life or death. I'm sure someday you will replenish your collection.

They are made by Destructive Drums out of Boston.

I was so suprised by this snare you have no idea. I bought it for like 130 bucks and I was expecting junk, just to hold me over. It tuned up so nicely.

I went with the same snare head I always go with, evans hd dry. Barely crank the bottom head so it gets alot of the snare sound and then crank the top up pretty high. If you get to much rattle or not enough play with the bottom head. It may be different for you since you have bubinga and unfortunently I have little experience with that wood. Maple always seems to suit me just fine. Good luck, I hope that helps somewhat!

I appreciate that...it hurt like hell to sell some of them but as long as I have something decent to play, I'm OK with it. If I had been smarter and stayed in school and finished college I might have more money for more drums. The vintage stuff continues to rise in price I've noticed. I'll never be able to replace some of the kits and snare I sold, but I enjoyed them when I had them.

Tama Starclassic Performer. That's all i really know about it. I just loved the way it sounded.
I just bought it maybe a month ago, and i've only played it 2 times. I got a heck of a deal on it too.

Yamaha Maple Custom Absolutes in black sparkle sunburst (not taken outside). These pics were taken before the John McLaughlin show in Durham, NC in September. I loaned the drummer, Mark Mondesir, my kit for the show. If you've never heard Mondesir, check him out... he was Tony Williams' favorite drummer and a favorite of Dennis Chambers.
