I got this exact same hardware kit, and the only complaint I have is that it is very heavy to carry. Double-braced.... each time I move these stands around, I kinda feel silly, because I don't really need something this robust.

I find myself using the BD pedal quite often, and I don't notice much difference with my Eliminator.

When I went to the Pork Pie web site, the kit on the picture was using Mapex hardware. This would imply a decent endorcement?

I have a Pro-M kit and the hardware that came with it is superb. Very heavy duty stuff here, much better than a lot of Pearl, Yamaha stuff I've seen before. When I got my new cymbals I went to buy another stand and got a Mapex one. It's a hideaway boom stand, extremely sturdy just like the high end Tama ones at the store and half the price of the Pearl ones that had useless stuff like 4 height adjustments and counterweights and so on. My only complaint with my hardware is that it's just too much to carry around, set-up. I'm a fan of the simple retro stuff, but it's hard to find that anymore. Gibralter just started making the single braced and the tube stuff again. Mapex and Tama have the best hardware. Yamaha is nice if you buy the high end series but then it's all large and heavy. Mapex also makes some cool stuff like stands with two or three booms on them and tom stands with cymbal arms.
