Default My newest addition to the drum family

Just bought this set off "Craigslist", it is a Sonor Jungle set.
16" bass 10" tom and a 13" floor tom. The set came with 2 very nice Beato bags for the toms, and another bag (not a Beato) for the bass drum.
I also got a a very sturdy heavy duty Pearl boom stand with the set.
Total was $200.00.
The snare in the picture is also a Sonor, but did not come with the set.

This is my third set, and I always wanted one like that.
So I set it up to take some pics.
I have a very small room so I couldn't walk around the set to take pics, but due to the size I never had that much room in my "woodshed".
I especially like the finish, it is a matte black finish.
It still has the original heads on it, I will change them soon, but the sound is great, the bass drum of course fo somebody who played a 22 incher (no jokes here) all his life, the 16" bass drum falls just a little short.
But I think it is a great set to take and set up somewhere really fast without a lot of gear.

Dang man, that is a really cool lookin' set, I'd always heard of these jungle sets, but I've never actually seen pictures of 'em.. Looks great! How do you like those hats?

Those hats are great, the whole Byzance series are great cymbal, I think.
I also have a set of Paiste 2002's but those are on my other set i the band practice room at the moment.

Oh man I LOVE Sonor Jungle Kits! I played one this summer, and fell in love with it. I wish I had one (including the space) for one. Very nice!

Though I don't own one of these, I'm a huge huge fan. A friend of mine plays this kit ( incidentally it was gifted to him by Steve Smith! ).

Dont worry about the kick, with the right heads and tuning, it'll kick butt. It has a pretty big thump for a 16".

Keep us posted! and congratulations for making a great choice.

Glückwunsch!!!

Great kit...I have to say that I love those, in a few minutes I`ll just get in that music shop in a near town and gonna play one again.
Though, is that a Force Jungle? Why Sonic? Is that and older line? And why does it have S-Class lugs?

Anyway, great deal and kit for sure.

Karl

The shells are made of maple and some other layers of wood.
That's what I heard , but I research a little more.

Yes Karl, this is not the Force Jungle, it is a older series, not the new Jungle Force.
I read the shells for those are made in Asia, and this set is about 3 years old, at least that is what the seller told me.
BTW I played it last night for about 1/2 hour, and what amazes me that bass drum does not move, I was always concerned that the bass drum will walk away from me, but it is actually really solid.
