That's what I was thinking... seems very strange.

Well I was never really into baseball but I am partial to the cover of Phish's Story Of The Ghost.

I just noticed that Justickingaround's reason is "no reason".

The mystery continues...

I always got a chuckle from Supertramp's "Crisis? What Crisis?" album because it was so indicative of their dry sense of humor. For just plain cool graphics, Blue Oyster Cult's "Cultasaurus Erectus". ELP's Brain Salad Surgery with that bizarre H.R. Geiger painting is also up there with me. And Triumvirat's "Sparticus" is probably the most creative- the band mascot (as it were), the little white rat which appeared on almost all of their album covers was inside of a light bulb...a lit one! with the little rat's tiny feet grabbing the white hot filament.

I think it was that nobody responded to the thread for awhile so he just edited the post. I gotta kick out of it and found it humorous. We all have started threads that nobody responded to... for whatever reason. He just put it back on top.

10,000 Days by Tool because of the 3d viewing of the booklet with inbuilt lenses on the cover. Seriously cool sh*t.
Not to mention the tribal design on the front is pretty damn cool.

I also like the primus plasticine covers, like frizzle fry.

It's a monk doing it as a protest. They had a large copy of that pic at my old school. Nasty stuff...

Errr... not quite, but I was right about the Pulitzer. Here's exactly what it is:

Thích Quảng Ðức (born Lâm Văn Tức in 1897 – June 11, 1963) was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who burned himself to death at a busy Saigon intersection on June 11, 1963. Thích Quảng Ðức was protesting the persecution of Buddhism by South Vietnam's Ngô Đình Diệm administration. Photos of his self-immolation were circulated widely across the world and brought world attention to the policies of the Diem regime. Malcolm Browne won a Pulitzer Prize for his iconic photo of the burning, while David Halberstam's written account achieved the same feat. The act increased international pressure on Diem and led him to announce some reforms with the intention of mollifying Buddhist opinion. However, the delayed implementation of the reforms saw the situation deteriorate. The heart of Thich Quang Duc remained intact after his cremation, leading Buddhists to revere him as a bodhisattva. With protests continuing, the Special Forces loyal to Diem's brother Ngo Dinh Nhu launched nationwide raids on Buddhist pagodas, inflicting widespread damage and killing, in addition to seizing the holy heart. Several more Buddhist monks followed the lead of Thich Quang Duc and eventually, an ARVN coup toppled and killed Diem in November. The self-immolation is widely seen as the turning point of the Buddhist crisis which led to the change in regime.

Neurosis's - Enemy of the Sun has always been a fave of mine.

I don't know who the artist is, but the exact same picture is seen in the opening credits of the Johnny Depp film 'The Ninth Gate'.

This was always a good one, I don't know about 'my favorite,' but there was some great drumming esp on the outtakes: Title Track and Windmills . . There's a transcription of the opening of "Brain Salad Surgery" in MD Drum Gods. good stuff. . Emerson, Lake and Palmer: Brain Salad Surgery.

I always liked the first Santana album the all the faces making up a Lion's head and Led Zeppelin III with the pinwheel you turn(I read Zeppelin got a 1 Million advance for that album) and probably Rolling Stones "Stickey Fingers" with the pants and real zipper.I always liked the Album art of the late 60's early 70's.
