They are nice for rock, punk and metal and that kinda thing, but i you're playing jazz, litain or bigband ( anything else than listed before) I would not recomend them. I am planing to buy some new hats, probably Zildjian A.Custom New beats or something. That's what I can say. I haven't tried alot of sound edges but I know the are cool. I recorded a song with Sound edges about a year ago, and they are really great!

Yes they are. You could just buy the 5Aextreme from Vic, same kind of thing. I like a little sticks a little longer than usual sizes

Thanks!

I love it! You get the explosive chrash effect plus a china type sound. And it is real loud! You just need to drop your stick on it sofly and it roars!

mofle...my dream kit is this .... Yamaha Maple Custom...I like the colour too....lovely !

Kekekeke, I remember when I went to the CC 3 weeks ago wanting to join the Orchestra - The guy asked me - "Why do you want to join our Orchestra? - You're from the Jazz Club right"...."I said yes I am - and continue saying " obviously you guys must have got a really big budget from our Local Government"....... and I Love All The Instruments You Have Here In THis Orchestra, especially that Yamaha Maple Customs Kit Sitting Right THere - Can I play the Drums ? - he said "Sure - You Come Back On Sunday Afternoon For An Audition Then We Talk About It ".......I told my Instructor about this - he smile and said to me - Get your own Maple Custom, you're not ready for now - and so - I didn't go for my Audition & I didn't have a Maple Custom to play...sobb..sobb

A 5pc Yamaha Maple Custom Kit - cost or USD4,720.00 & a 7pc Kit cost USD5660.00 in Singapore.....

I purchased this one for the third of the retail price! It had been standing in an unused studio for two years and they sold out all their eq. for nothing! I payed about 2000. Usd. for them in Norway, they are usualy like 55000 usd for a 6 pc.!

Fantastic kit! How do you like the Mapex steel snare? I'm been thinking about getting it because of the great price ($120 or so).

I can just say it again and again: those Maple Customs look just delicious with those golden lugs and those niiiice finishes. Also, they sound cool...just a good choice I think.
...aaaand I like your line-up with this side snare drum! =)

Because, I ordered a Yamaha Maple Custom kit with standart sizes. If available, I would order universal size but unfortunately!...
I mean there's not 10x8 size option in M.C. series. So I think it's 10x9, isn't it?
You can only select 10x7 or 10x9 sizes in this serie...

Universal sizes're available in Absoulte series. But why does Yamaha do that, why can't we get 10x8 tom with M.C.?... I don't understand...

If you crank it up with all your power and slap some moon gel/Drum gum/duckt tape you could get a nice sound out of it.
I would recoment to get new heads, the Mapex heads are real bad!

Do you mean ''up side down''? Yes, it has a little crack in the middle so it is explosive and the sound is gone in a second! So I get a heavy ''bang'' out of it when I hit it real hard.
