Default Carbon Fiber Drumsticks?!

Has anyone played with carbon fiber sticks? Supposedly they don't break half as much as regular sticks...

Does anyone have past experience/grievances/complements of this kind of stick?

If you're talking about the Carbostick, they're not carbon-fiber, and they're also not very good. I've tried them at a few stages in their supposed evolution, and neither felt good, or lasted. I literally broke both sticks in a pair, after only a few songs in a small club. I was not playing hard, either. Stay away from those.

The only actual carbon-fiber sticks I know of were from Trick in the late '90s -

There were some issues with manufacturing, and the pair I have is pretty rigid. I don't know if these are the good ones, or the bad ones, but they barely made it into stores (if at all) and so are extremely rare.

I've got a pair of Carbosticks; had them for about 3 years now... they're showing a bit of wear but are holding up just fine. They definitely feel 'different,' not like wood at all; kind of top heavy.

I don't use them much anymore since I found Hornets, but if anyone ever turns up at our studio without their own sticks, they get the Carbosticks~

Are Ahead sticks considered Caron Fiber drumsticks? Because those are near indestructible. But i dont like them that much because the feel of them are completley different than the feel of maple/hickory/ect. wood. But some people like them.

No, they're plastic sheaths with an aluminium core. Nowhere near Carbon Fibre.

I'm not sure if what I'm thinking of is carbon fiber, but theres a few pairs of lead-colored sticks at the drum shop and they're supposed to be very durable... ah can't remember what they're called

i had carbosticks for a while,
i broke the first pair i had in about 3 months which i thought was still pretty decent time for a stick to last.
but then i bought another pair and they snapped in about 2 weeks.
so i stay away from them now.

I've got a pair... They've held up okay but then again I haven't used them very much. Nothing about them really jumped out at me, I prefer my Japanese Oak Promarks.
