Wow that finish compliments the cymbals so much, it looks absolutely stunning, they must sound great too!

So how are the Premiers? Are these top of the line? I am not familiar with Premier.

In fact, there is a couple of series above the Artists, the "Genista" and "Premier", I think. However, these drums work fine with me. I tune them high, with lots of resonance. The bassdrum has lots of punch.

Very impressive. Premier seem to have a keen eye for aesthetics (tom holder aside maybe). Wonderful taste all around, great drums, great cymbals and an economical setup. I'm impressed, I feel like stealing it...

Great little kit and especially the cymbals you got there!
How are the masters hats? I know they good for jazz which is a plus but do you think they could be used in a classic rock situation?

Hi again,
I use the hats in a rock setting now and then, and I would say that they work fine. They do not cut through my gitarist's Hiwatt-rig completely, but are far from being too weak. However, for a heavy-metal-heavy-hitter I wouldn't recommend them.
They really sound good on low levels, with clear and defined sticking. A little dark.

I'll get my hands on a recording soon, where I used these hats in a jazz/funk setting.. Maybe I'll post a clip then.

Cool, but do you think that a 15" model, which is the size of hats I want anyway, would give me a little more volume/cutting?

If I could I would play jazz, funk, and blues for the majority of my playing but the band I play in plays alot of Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Band, etc. and some higher volume Motown stuff.

Well, I have no experience with hats larger than 14", so it's hard to say..
Guess you could get an idea if you listen to clips online, for example at
CymbalsOnly

Hi...thought I would post my question into this thread.
I`m just curious...

When I look out for a Premier Artist Heritage kit I see this version: http://www.musical-instruments.co.il...s/heritage.jpg

The shells are drilled for the tom holders (no RIM tom holders) and natural laquered bass drum hoops. Is the version I see an older one and this one Eirik has is an updated version? I`m a bit confused.

thanks alot,

Karl

This is old but it wasn't answered so I thought I'd respond.

I have a pair of 15" Masters. They are softer and don't have as much of a cut as 14"'s, but they would work great in Rock music or any other style. I especially like them because you can really lay into them, especially when open and they don't get out of control. Here is an mp3 that I made where you can hear my hats. As you can hear they speak fairly well but they lay into the sound of the set more:
