Default I Know That You've Seen This Before, But...

This is the configuration I use for jobs. I don't use the aux hi-hat and I cut my cymbals down by three. I play on Sat, and just finished tuning them. They sound fantastic!.

Is it just me or is that bass drum really shallow? What's the depth on that?

Looks like a comfy kit, except for the left-handedness :)

Very cool.

I always wonder - what benefits does a lack of top felts and wingnuts give?

Also, whos that in the background on that desk?

lol - just my questioning....

Lack of top felts? What for? There isn't any metal to cymbal contact. I don't see the purpose. I don't use wingnuts because it is much easier to take them off and put them on the stands. It adds up over the years. I don't know anyone who plays so hard that the cymbal will fly off the stand. Again, for what purpose?

That is a real nice set of drums. As one of the above posters said; I liked it with all of the cymbals in an earlier thread, but this looks much better. Kinda like the production model of a car.., not the prototype. This set looks 'real' now, lean and mean. I would like to hear it.
The cymbals you have give you a wide range of sounds. The thin A-custom, the heavy Sabian ride, along with the other Zildjians looks like a great combination of sounds. I'm not lefty, but it looks like a very comfortable set to play. Very mature positioning and angling if you will. How long have you been playing?
Great photos BTW.

That set is how old??! Wow, that is in good condition.
My opinion only.., best looking set I've seen here so far. For me, there is just something about Rogers that appeals to me. I like the way they look, the lugs, hardware, you name it. I like it in basic black as well. Nothing like a simple black dress (lol).
How does it sound? I guess that's important too!

Tammy
