Default My Allegra Kit!

Allegra is a custom company out of Portland, Oregon.

They make fantastic drums. They use maple keller shells, but do a ton of finishing and stuff with them to get them to sound great. The snare and bass are 8-ply and the toms are 6-ply.

Sizes:

13x7 snare
12x9 rack tom
14x13 floor tom
16x14 floor tom
22x18 bass drum

Cymbals:

Recently I have toned down my cymbal selection and have decided I like it simple.

14 in. HHX Legacy Hats
16 in. HHX Evolution Crash
18 in. HHX Evolution Crash
20 in. K Custom Dark Ride

Hardware:

A mix of Tama and Pearl with an Iron Cobra kick pedal and Roc-N-Soc throne.

Sticks:

Vater! (These things last forever.) 5A's or 5B's.

Other Equipment:

iPod
Shure SE120k's
Drum Key

Pictures!

Very nice drums. I sat in behind an Allegra a few times and they are top-quality drums.

at first I was going to say the lugs are to big. But I dig the way they put the wrap in the lugs. Good looking kit. I have a custom kellar maple kit on the way as well.

Nice Kit. I like everything except that color on your toms and bass. I love the finish on that snare and I like your cymbals. Whats up with those lugs is the center of the lug wood and the outside metal?

You do realize that I made this entire thread just so you would find your key, yes?

And yeah... I love the wrap inlay on the toms... it's one of the most aesthetically unique and pleasing things about their kits. The center of the lug is metal, as is the outside.

Allegra did not shut down, but they are (I believe) doing ddrum's Custom Shop line (I've read this many places and seen some ddrum kits in their store.)

The finish is a wrap, and it is 100x more gorgeous in person.

Makes the KILP list, definitely. I love the cymbal selection.

And the lugs are camouflaged!

They're great for practice. In a live situation I usually only use one as I like to listen to some live sound as well. With both in it's tough to hear the crowd and some of the cooler musical nuances, as well as judging my own dynamic levels, but they work well.
