Default My Gretsch Snare and Reference Kit

Here's my Reference kit with my Gretsch Usa Maple. I need another cymbal stand though. Those toms are heavy.

The sound is outstanding, so easy to tune, This is my dream kit.

Wow, truly beautiful kit. Unfortunatly I never had the chance to test the References.
How have you tuned them? Do you have any sound clips?

Congrats...

PS: Can you give us some specs?

Karl

Love the arsenal you got! The references are just basically custom masters right?

What style do you play?

Clean supra! I play a 5.5x14 Supra Phonic at practice but it sounds like ish my teacher needs to change the heads and the rods are slipping.

That's a really nice kit, I've always liked Pearl. My first kit was a 5pc Forum and even though it was their low-end model, the quality was top knotch - especially the hardware. I'm seriously impressed w/ a drum company that doesn't cut corners on the things that matter, even for their smallest offerings.

It was that reason I was going to go for a Reference or Master Custom when I got my dream kit (but went w/ DW instead.) I think I'll own a Pearl kit again someday, however.

I can afford it because i am old, 37 years . I and my wife said it was OK. LOL

My style preference is fusion and funk. But i like to play it all. I am focussing on jazz too, since i got the Jim Chapin book on Jazz and Bebop.

The fit and finish is outstanding. The inside wood is beautifull I'll take pics.

14 x 14 floor tom , on order be here in 3 months
16x 16 tom
22 x 18 bass

k dark custom crash
aa ride (dont like it on this kit)
zht hat

It's a pitty that Gretsch discontinued the USA Maple series! That was a kit I fell in love with and was really impressed with. I just loved the toms. But now, the USA Custom is much too expensive and I just don't like the sound of the new classic series.
