Default New DW Snare

Hey, I've been looking for another snare for a while now, something completely different from my Black Panther, and I came across this.. DW 14x5 All Maple 10 ply with 6 ply reinforcement hoops , Champagne glass.

Ten and Six:

Its really warm and packs quite a punch. The colour really sets off the blue sparkle on my Starclassic's aswel. I'm currently using this as my main snare now :)

Hey,

as a big fan of sprakle finishes i just wanted to tell you: Nice snare with nice finish.
DW looks always so round because of these (i don´t know the name of these parts) lugs? (the things where the tom mounting system is on).

I'm also quite impressed with the standard of this sparkle, especially as its a wrap ('Finish Ply'). I've never been much of a fan of wraps, but this I like. Yea Exident, your right, their called Lugs. I'm considering getting a acrylic shell for my BP now, but I'm scared incase I manage to murder my lovely panther.

Man, where do you live? That DW makes cool drums is clear and that they are so beautiful, too. I love that finish!!! One of the nicest. I hope you have fun! =)

Hey Karl, I live in Newcastle, England. I was actually very lucky in getting this snare as the drum shop near me was having a stock clearance, I bought it for £200 which in my books is a deal.

It sure is a killer......

Hey, thanks for all the great comments! I've had this snare a while now and love it, I like to tune it to have a nice warm punch. I'm in the studio again soon, so I'll get some sound samples. I plan to sample this snare in Fl Studio, so the samples will be diverse e.g ghost, normal, rim-shot, flam etc. Thanks again

EDIT: I'm going to Crete for two weeks, I'll post the sound files when i return (26th July)
