Default My New Gretsch US Custom Jazz Kit!

Hey Guys!

I just bought this Gretsch US Custom from the 80's. The kit is with the original Jaspar shells.

The sizes are 12x8, 14x14, 18x16 - and the finish is Black Sparkle.

The kit sounds AMAZING! I simply can't describe how good it sounds!!

The Cymbals are:

14" Zildjian K Constantinople Hihat
20" Zildjian K Constantinople Flat Ride
22" Zildjian K Constantinople Medium Thin High
22" Zildjian K Constantinople Medium Thin Low

The hardware is a litlle mixed!

Feel free to comment on the kit! :-)

Sweet. Congrats! I saw a lovely USA Custom 5 piece jazz set on Ebay that I would've sprung on if money allowed.

Keep in mind he is only like 15! How other kids at that age have a Gretsch US surrounding by K cons? Presumably none.

Lucky man you, enjoy.

The simple fact that he's fifteen makes me wonder how he could afford that setup. I'm almost 22, and I'm pinching pennies just to save up for a kit that's worth half that much.

I'll admit, I'm insanely jealous .. but hey, if he's got the skill to match the pricetag of that kit, then good for him. Let me segue and request some videos or audio of that kit.

Did you buy all of those cymbals new or used? both? I'm just curious as to how much everything cost you.

If he doesn't then still lucky him. I'm not hating on anyone, I play nice cymbals and I'm half as good as some of the guys rockin' B8s on here.

Play 'em hard my friend.

I'm curious how it sounds compared to the Catalina mahogany kit in the background?

TJD...nice kit. For all you cats who now have Gretsch envy, here's a Gretsch on eBay right now, $1500 "buy it now" and no bids. http://cgi.ebay.com/Gretsch-Broadkas...QQcmdZViewItem Kinda funny, he calls or elludes to his kit being a stop sign badge, when it is in fact a square badge. That's eBay for you. But it might cost him a sale. Look here for Gretsch badge history. http://www.gretschdrums.com/?fa=historybadges
