Default Mapex M Birch + walnut black panther snare

This is my Mapex M Birch Fusionease kit in Black Forest cherry lacquer finish. The kit is as follows.
Toms:
8x8"
10x8"
12x9"
14x14"

Bass Drum:
22x18
Snare:
Standard mapex 14x5.5" also Pearl Signature Steve Ferrone Snare 14x6" and most recently a walnut mapex black panther 14x6.5" (see below)

Gasp, that walnut snare is stunning. What is its characteristics i comparison to maple? Is it fatter or brighter?

i play mainly rock but i also play in a part time band that plays more acoustic stuff. the snare seems to work well playing loud or quiet. its ultra sensitive and is very versatile. i've played it tuned both high and quite low and it sounds excellent either way. it always maintains a meaty fat sound. overall i would reccommend it!!!!

I have the same kit (Fusionease) in the Black Forest Green with an extra 16" floor tom. It's a great kit isn't it!!? I like the Black Forest Cherry finish a lot and that BP snare drum is killer. Congrats on your set!!

I have exactly the same kit but with an extra 16x16 floor tom. BFC is a beaty of a finish

Overall I`m still not sure about Mapex M`s sound though...is it easy to tune? Hows shell quality?

Hrrm sounds like my kind of stuff, if I save up for ages! :p still I bet it's great!

Great kit by the way, I always loved that finish.
