Hey good stuff Matei, I was about to PM you to see if you'd put the new kit up yet. Obviously aside from the cymbals (the main ones at least) you've got yourself a great little setup there. Force 3005's are some great drums, and that finish is nice too. You've done yourself proud here; now you've got the gear bug I just know you're going to be down in Sharon music (which is where you MUST have got that Meinl splash, right?).

Now get yourself down to Music Matters and have a go at their Istanbul range! Kidding. Good people in there though. Nice tight setup, well laid out and looks like a lot of fun. These drums will last you forever, I wouldn't mind a set myself. Good choice.

Tou might want to start working on stick control and hitting somewhere near the center of the head. Sonor makes great drums. You must be happy!

nice set :) I know that it sounds good also with the stock heads, but try tu put clear ambassador on the bottom of your toms and some good heads on the top - coated ambassador, or clear ambassador, and it will sound muuuuuch more better ;)

yeah i am just about to purchase that same kit. I am getting the 20" bass drum like you have, so i was wondering if you really need to stuff it that much. How much muffling did you put in there? I was hoping that i wouldn't need to stuff it as much as my 22" bass.

cool! nice kit indeed. I have that splash, when your going to update those planet z's, it would be well worth looking at more meinls.

Fantastic!

I have the 3005 in the same finish also - but the bigger sizes (+ an add on 14x14 floor tom). These drums have been spectacular for me. I've gigged with them 40 - 50 times and always get positive feedback on the sound.

I wholly agree that you should give the Evans G2 Coated heads a run on your 3005s. They did wonders for my sound and you can pick up a pre-pack pretty cheap.

Another suggestion - put a decent snare side head on. I put on a Hazy 300 and it really opened up the snare drum.

Congrats again on the kit, I know you'll love it.

Lol talk about reopening an old post...

I have Planet Zs and I quite like them, hi-hats are nice, crash is a bit gongy and ridy has too many overtones, but for the price they're really sweet.
One thing of note though is that they're awfully heavy and thick so moving them or polishing them especially the ride is an absolute NIGHTMARE.

Great looking kit. Congratulations!

I play a 2005 stage configuration kit, and kind of wish I had gone with the studio sizes. I really only play in my home and the stage size Sonors are just LOUD.

Sweet looking kit!!!! I have the 3005's in natural, stage 2 config. How about a follow up post now that you've had the kit a year. My hunch is they just keep getting better!!!
