Default Anyone know what pedal Steve Gadd uses?

Does anyone know what type of a pedal Steve Gadd uses - is it chain, strap or direct drive?

I recall a regular strap drive yamaha - mid line - nothing fancy.

Current credits list him as using the DFP-9310, which is the Flying Dragon double chain drive. Prior model was the DFP-880, the model in the picture appears earlier than that. Seems to be a double-chain, judging by width, or maybe a strap. Hard to ID a pedal by just it's slave. Looking on eBay, this might be the "bad boy" right here. http://cgi.ebay.com/Yamaha-Bass-Peda...QQcmdZViewItem And it's a slave pedal to boot.

/\ /\ /\ /\

Exactly.

Steve Gadd can go several shows without changing heads, because he knows how to play them.

Like wise, he can play a cheap pedal, because he knows how to.

Incidentally, you could play a cheap old pedal provided you oil it and keep it working.
