Default promark,valter or Vic firth

I haven't tried many sticks just vic firth and I want try new sticks like vater and promark but I'm not sure I want.

I use Vic Firth 5a for general playing and love them, 8d for the jazz and 5b to get more speed..
I play all styles but mainly jazz and blues, indie and old rock like rolling stones, pink floyd, the who and many more bands.

I want very durably sticks same give me more old sound of my drum kit with my coated ambassador head and big ping sound when i play jazz.

I've been playing promark for years. I've tried both vic virth and vater and for how I play I seem to break those alot easier. Promark from my expierience chip into smaller pieces than other sticks I have used. Although I would be VERY sure to use the HICKORY sticks as the promark oak are complete trash.

I still play the regular Vic Fith 5As, they've always worked out comfortably.. Also sometimes play Tony Royster signature, or 7As for jazzy stuff.. I find Vic Firth to be the best.. Did anybody try the Ahead carbon sticks? Personally I think they're a bit too heavy but man they are loud.. If you play really heavy music I'd recommend these bad boys, although I find that because carbon sticks just wont break your hands absorb most of the shock that the wooden ones would usually soak up..

I use Vicfirth and Promark hickory 7a. I dont really notice any difference in durability but im quite a soft hitter.

I use Pro mark 747 for rock, but Vic Firth AJ6 for jazz. I highly recomned the AJ6, it has an amazing feel when you hold it.

I used to use Vic Firth sticks but they broke or broke down on me too quick. I now use Pro Mark 5B mainly and have been very happy with them.

I have used Pro Mark, Regal Tip, Vic's, and Vater...all in 5A. For ME and the way I play the Vic's hold up the best, and they feel like they have a little more weight to them.

It surprises me you find the oak to be sturdy. I've had some serious issues with the promark oak. I'm talking breaking brand new sticks counting off. Funny.

Good thing about sticks, they dont cost as much as cymbals!!!!
Buy a pair of what appeals to you. Try them all and pick out which ones you like.
